Our story

Maracocina  was born in a home filled with tradition, love, and the bold flavors and colors of two cultures. Our story begins in Maracaibo, Venezuela, where founder Alfonso Acosta grew up surrounded by rich aromas, flavors and colorful serving items. His grandmother, a spirited woman from Seville, Spain, passed down her treasured recipes, the way of serving them and the colorful handmade accessories that told stories, connected generations, and brought people together. From a young age, Alfonso learned that traditions can be a vibrant way of living, not merely sustenance. It was a memory, a heritage, a connection. With every stir of the pot, every pinch of spice, and providing colorful designs, he was preserving a legacy. Years later, after moving to the United States, Alfonso found himself longing for those same memories. But, what he found in stores did not reflect the spirit of his family. So, he returned to his roots, perfecting his grandmother’s recipes,  experimenting with local ingredients, and collecting beautiful items to create something new yet timeless. That’s how Maracocina was born—“Mara” for Maracaibo, and “cocina,” the Spanish word for kitchen. What started as a small passion project in his home quickly grew by word of mouth. Friends, neighbors, and local food lovers couldn’t get enough of his creations, each item filled with tradition,  originality, and heart. Today, Maracocina continues to honor its origins with everything we craft. Our mission is simple: to bring people together with authentic decor, gourmet flavors  inspired by family, culture, and love.

Welcome to our kitchen. Welcome to Maracocina.
